SMS Consent & Opt-In Script

1. How We Collect Consent

Taqueria Baez collects consent for text messages verbally, during phone orders. Customers call Taqueria Baez to place a pickup order. When a customer’s number is not already enrolled, the order taker tells them we can text this number when the order is ready, plus rare important updates such as a change to our hours or location, and asks if that is okay. Consent is recorded only when the customer says yes, and it applies to that number until the customer opts out. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase; a customer who declines is simply told the expected time for pickup. A typical order produces one text; important updates are rare. Message and data rates may apply.

2. Opt-In Script (English)

The order taker says the following to the customer during the phone order:

“We’ll text you at this number when your order’s ready, plus the occasional important update like an hours or location change. You can opt out anytime. That okay?”

If the customer says yes, their phone number is enrolled for order notifications. If the customer says no, no text messages are sent.

3. Opt-In Script (Spanish)

Orders placed in Spanish use the equivalent line:

“Le enviaremos un mensaje de texto a este número cuando su orden esté lista, y de vez en cuando un aviso importante como un cambio de horario o ubicación. Puede cancelar en cualquier momento. ¿Está bien?”

4. What Happens After Opt-In

Customers who opt in receive a text message from Taqueria Baez when their order is ready, and on rare occasions an important update such as a change to our hours or location. For example:

“Taqueria Baez: Your order [#123] is ready for pickup! [Address] Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

“Taqueria Baez: ¡Su orden [#123] está lista! [Address] Responda STOP para cancelar, HELP para ayuda.”

Message frequency varies; a typical order produces one message, and important updates are sent only on rare occasions. Replying STOP stops all messages and triggers a one-time opt-out confirmation. Replying HELP returns assistance information.
